Now in its third year, the Sony World Photography Awards gives amateur and professional photographers the chance to win international recognition plus some very exciting prizes, including cash and digital SLR cameras by Sony. One of the biggest and most influential events of its kind, the Sony World Photography Awards attracts entries photographers from more than 150 countries.

Don’t be intimidated if you’ve never entered a photo competition before. The Sony Photography Awards is open to everyone and it’s totally free to submit your images. All you need is a digital camera – and a little imagination.

The Amateur competition includes these award categories: Architecture; Conceptual & Constructed; Documentary; Fashion; Landscape; Music; Natural History; Portraiture and Sport.
