Julien Roumagnac

Posted on 28 October 2009 by niyazi

Julien is 35 years old and from France (from Touraine precisely) but he is living in Montreal (Québec, Canada) since 2002.

Julien_2You can know him by his words;

Usually I won’t talk about me nor put my photos on my photoblog, but i realized that I have enjoyed other photoblogs that allow me to know more about the author and to see his/her face, so why not let you have this privilege too ?

Voilà ! Above this is my face, thanks to Roumi who took these beautiful pictures in the heat of the moment :) .

Photography is an old passion that reappeared four years ago for me, because some correct (and affordable) SLRs were finally available on the market and because Roumi (who is my brother Marc) brought me back to that passion through his motivating photo work. A long time ago I used to develop black and white films myself in my small lab (in my room) but I was seduced by the emerging technology and now I couldn’t do anything without it.

Yes I use Photoshop to post-process my pictures, and I feel no shame. Because I shoot only in RAW (somewhat the digital negative), all my pictures are dropped into photoshop to be revealed. For me it is part of the game. Some of them have a few post-enhancements and some others have more depending on the picture and my mood…

Everydays I’m a self-employed web designer / developer, so I spend all my daytime and often my evenings designing products for the web.

This is not a daily photoblog, I definitely cannot afford that and it would spoil my pleasure. Photography is only a hobby that allow me to escape from my main job. I would like to spend more time on it and to put my opinion on other photoblogs, but time is often really short. So don’t be upset, it is not because I don’t want to, it is because I cannot. Photoblogs are not only simple galleries for me, it is also a place to exchange points of view and thus to progress.

Do not hesitate to bring constructive criticism, I’m not too sensitive and I still have a lot to learn in that unlimited and so hard domain that is photography.

I am grateful for your visits and your feedbacks. Thank you
