Depth of field (DOF)

Depth of field (DOF) is the amount of distance between the nearest and farthest objects that appear in acceptably sharp focus in a photograph.  The depth of field varies depending on camera type, aperture and focusing distance. DOF is one of the most creative and profound effects available to photographers.

Shutter Speed

In photography shutter speed is one of the most basic important controls on a digital cameras. It controls the amount of time that your photo  is exposed to light. Shutter speed, is measured in seconds, but often marked in reciprocal seconds.

Aperture

Adjustment of the lens opening, measured as f-number, which controls the amount of light passing through the lens. Aperture also has an effect on depth of field and diffraction – the higher the f-number, the smaller the opening, the less light, the greater the depth of field, and the more the diffraction blur.
